Topeak SmartGauge D2 Tire Pressure Gauge
A pocket-sized digital gauge that nails MTB pressures with 1psi precision.

Why I Like It
For XC and endurance MTB, dialing in tire pressure is always part of setup decisions. The Topeak SmartGauge D2 has been my go-to tool for hitting exact numbers day after day. I run pressures as low as possible for a given course, and this thing helps me nail it every time.
It’s consistent, accurate (within 1psi), and easy to use. My floor pump is always a few PSI off, and my digital inflator (the Eflator ↗) gets me close — but this gauge is the final word. I’ve gotten caught running too low in the past eyeballing things, so now I use this religiously.
Quick Specs
- Reads down to 1 PSI with great consistency
- Works on Presta and Schrader valves
- Rotating head helps with tight valve angles
- Easy-to-read digital display
- Long battery life (still going after 8+ months)
In My Setup
- I use it before every ride — especially when racing or fine-tuning for rough terrain.
- After filling with the Eflator ↗, I use the Topeak to bleed down to my target pressure.
- I run super low pressures (as low as 12psi) depending on the course, and this lets me confidently repeat exactly what worked the day before.
- It’s compact enough to travel with and way more accurate than most analog or floor pump gauges.
Tips
- If the battery ever seems loose, a tiny wedge of paper towel can fix contact issues. Mine’s been solid ever since I had this issue.
- The rotating head is super helpful for viewing the screen from odd angles.
Who It’s For
Any rider who cares about repeatable precision — especially for MTB or gravel where pressure make an impact. If you’re the type to say “14 felt perfect yesterday, I want that again,” this is the tool that’ll make it happen.
