Pearl Izumi Summit Gloves
Minimalist, breathable MTB gloves with touchscreen-ready fingertips and all-day comfort.

Why I Like It
These are the most breathable and comfortable gloves I’ve used for XC and marathon MTB racing. The stretchy top panel feels barely there, while the padded palm takes the edge off long descents and chunky sections. Even after hours on the bike, they don’t feel soggy or restrictive — and they play nice with my Garmin and phone.
I’ve got absurdly sweaty hands, so gloves are a non-negotiable for me. These have been the best I’ve found — they breathe well and dry fast. Despite regularly smashing my pinkies into trees (a skill issue, not a glove one), they’ve held up way better than others I’ve worn. I now own both black (training) and white (race day) pairs — and they’ve become my go-to across all but the coldest conditions.
Quick Specs
- Lightweight, minimalist feel
- Gel palm reduces hand fatigue on long rides
- Touchscreen-compatible fingers
- Stretchy, breathable upper panel
- Reinforced cuff with slip-on design
In My Setup
- I wear Medium, even though I’m sometimes a Large in other gloves — these stretch a bit.
- Black pair gets most of the miles; white pair is for race day.
- Works great with all touchscreens — I use them with both iPhone and Garmin.
- Haven’t torn them yet despite repeated tree-smashing.
Tips
- These are not for cold weather — they dry fast, but they don’t insulate.
- If your hands get sweaty, these are worth a shot — they seem to evaporate moisture faster than anything else I’ve worn.
Who It’s For
XC and marathon racers who want a lightweight, breathable glove that disappears on your hands. Great for hot climates, long rides, or anyone who values comfort and bar feel over insulation or armor.
