Lezyne Tubeless Pro Plug Kit
Permanent-style tubeless repair kit with mushroom plugs and rubber cement for fixing big punctures right — from the inside.
Why I Like It
The Lezyne Tubeless Pro Plug Kit is a more permanent solution for big tubeless punctures — especially those sidewall tears that make standard bacon strips or Dynaplugs sketchy. It’s designed for use from the inside of the tire, using a mushroom-shaped plug and included rubber cement to create a lasting seal.
I used one on a sidewall puncture on a brand-new Maxxis Aspen that I’d raced at the Silver Rush 50 MTB. The fix felt solid and flexible, and the glue cured cleanly. The repair feels like something you could trust for long-term use, not just limp home on.
Quick Specs
- Includes:
- 6x mushroom-style plugs (3 different sizes)
- Rubber cement and applicator
- Installation tool for seating the plug from inside the tire
- Designed for internal tubeless repair
- Works on large punctures or cuts that normally require multiple plugs
In My Setup
This isn’t a trailside tool — it’s a shop fix for when a race tire you really like deserves a second chance.
I’ll sometimes use it after pulling out a plug like a Dynaplug ↗️ or bacon strip that’s in a bad spot or required multiple plugs in a single hole, clean up the hole, and seat one of these from inside. Once sealed, I’ll refill with
Orange Seal Endurance ↗️ and remount.
What Sets It Apart
- The mushroom head anchors the plug inside the tire so it can’t pull through.
- The rubber cement bond makes the repair far more secure than friction-only plugs.
- Ideal for big holes, sidewall cuts, or punctures that normally end a tire’s life.
- Lets you save expensive race tires instead of tossing them after one unlucky ride.
Notes
- You’ll need to remove the tire to use it — this is a workshop repair, not a trailside fix.
- It’s best to let the cement cure overnight before remounting. (Although it seems to dry relatively fast and doesn’t require pressing to the tire for mroe than a few minutes.)
- Great value when the alternative is a new tire.
Buyer’s Tips
- Ideal for XC racers who want to preserve lightweight race tires rather than replace them. At a minimum the end result is an excellent tire for training rides.
- Pull on the end of the plug for a few minutes to let the rubber cement dry with the mushroom end pressed firmly to the tire.
