Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242
Medium-strength threadlocker that keeps bolts from loosening without making them impossible to remove.

Why I Use It
A tiny dab of Loctite Blue 242 can save your ride—and your sanity. I keep a tube in my toolbox for anything that has a tendency to rattle loose over time: brake rotor bolts, bottle cage screws, cleat bolts, and even suspension hardware if needed. It’s the go-to medium-strength threadlocker that keeps things secure but still serviceable.
For race setups especially, it’s peace of mind. Apply it once, and you’re not second-guessing whether your brake adapter bolts will start backing out mid-descent. If you’re regularly swapping parts or fine-tuning setups, Blue 242 is strong enough to hold without requiring heat or heroic effort to break free.
Pro Tips
- Don’t overtighten. Use a torque wrench and let the threadlocker do its job.
- One drop goes a long way.
- One tube lasts forever. You won’t need to restock often—unless your riding buddies start borrowing it.
